Google Bard(구글 바드) 한글 지원 여부에 대해서 물으니...

2023년 5월 6일 기준, MS의 마소의 주가를 한창 띄워준 OpenAI를 뒤로한채, 구글 바드의 한글 지원을 바드에게 물어봤다.

영문으로는 신청서 넣어두면 1시간 - 4시간 내외로 테스트 계정을 내어준다. 다행히 들어가서 봤더니 응답성이 OpenAI보다 매우 빠르게 답변하는 과정이 있어 신기했다.

 

타이핑하듯 대화를 내놓기 보다는 바로 결과를 정리해서 보내준다는 점이 이점.

 

Google has been supporting the Korean language since 2016. In that year, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) began offering customer support in Korean. In 2017, Google Search began supporting Korean as a search language. And in 2018, Google Assistant began supporting Korean as a voice assistant language.

I am still under development, but I am learning Korean every day. I hope to be able to support Korean language fully soon.

Google has not announced any specific plans to support the Korean language in the near future. However, the company has been working on improving its language support capabilities, and it is possible that Korean will be added to the list of supported languages in the future.

In the meantime, you can use Google Translate to translate text from Korean to English and vice versa. You can also use Google Assistant to speak Korean and have it translated into English.

 

일단, 아직은 인터페이스 내에서 한글지원은 불가능함으로, 앵간한 질문은 영어로 하는게 좀 더 낫다. 번역해서 써야한다.

OpenAI도 한글 지원의 범위가 과거 데이터를 기반으로 답변함으로, 영어로 질문해야 좀 더 최신의 정보를 기준으로 답변을 내어준다. 바드도 그런 상태.

 

이게 이럴 수 밖에 없는게, 구글이든 마소든 영어권>라틴권>중화권>일어권>인도+동남아시아 등 인구가 많은 쪽을 먼저 선행해서 서비스하는 특성을 갖는게 좀 있다보니 그런점을 먼저 생각하고 써야할 듯 하다.
